About Bronzed by Ki

Built for the skin tones that are often overlooked in spray tanning.

Bronzed by Ki exists because spray tanning has never really worked for everyone. Most experiences are built around a "one shade fits most" approach — and deeper skin tones in particular often end up walking away with barely a tan at all. That's why I use my KIPRO Shade Matrix to consult every client's exact tone and match the right solution to it, so the glow looks like it belongs on you, not like it was picked off a shelf.

Prep Reminder
Exfoliate, no moisturiser, no perfume on the day. Arrive with clean, dry skin for the best and longest-lasting result.

On the day
Your Glow
I'll talk through the look you want and choose the most suitable shade for your skin tone and desired glow. Relaxed, private, no rushing.

6hrs after
First Rinse
Shower after 8–10 hours using cool water and a pH-balanced body wash. Pat dry gently — don't rub. Your tan is still developing underneath.

24hrs after
Full Glow
Colour fully developed. Moisturise daily with an oil-free lotion to keep your glow for 5–7 days and help it fade evenly.

Deposit
All deposits are non-refundable and secure your appointment slot.
Late Arrivals
Please arrive on time — arrivals more than 15 minutes late will incur a £10 late fee.
No-Shows & Cancellations
No-shows forfeit their deposit and may be blocked from future bookings if there's no communication. Late cancellations require a full rebook.

Following these steps makes a real difference to how your tan develops and how long it lasts.

Before Your Tan
Preparation
  • Exfoliate your skin 24 hours before your appointment
  • Shave or wax 24–48 hours before — not on the same day
  • Avoid moisturiser, deodorant and perfume on the day
  • Arrive with clean, dry skin — no makeup on body
  • Wear or bring loose, dark clothing for after your appointment

After Your Tan
Aftercare
  • Avoid water, sweat and tight clothing during development time
  • First rinse: cool water and a pH-balanced body wash after 8–10 hours (1–4 hours for express solutions)
  • Pat dry gently — do not rub
  • Moisturise daily with an oil-free lotion to extend your glow
  • Hands and face tend to fade a little faster than the rest of the body — this is completely normal
  • Start gently exfoliating after 4–5 days to encourage an even fade
  • Use a straw when drinking to avoid removing tan around the lip area
  • Your spray tan contains no SPF — continue using your usual sun protection as normal
  • Avoid swimming in chlorine or the sea for the first 24 hours
  • Avoid shaving for at least 24 hours after your tan

With proper aftercare, your tan should last 5–7 days and fade naturally and evenly.

FAQ.

Will a spray tan work on my skin tone? +
Yes — Bronzed by Ki welcomes all skin tones from Fitzpatrick 1 through 6. Every appointment is tailored to your individual shade and the glow you're going for.
I've never had a spray tan before — is it awkward? +
Not at all. It's a relaxed, private one-to-one appointment and there's genuinely no pressure or rushing. Lots of first-timers feel nervous — that's completely normal and you're always in control.
Will it look orange? +
The goal is always a natural, bronzed glow — not an artificial colour. Choosing the right shade for your skin tone is the most important part, and we'll talk through that together before anything is applied.
Will it look ashy or grey on deeper skin tones? Always asked
Absolutely not — and this is something I care about. A grey or ashy result usually happens when the wrong solution or shade is used for a deeper skin tone. At Bronzed by Ki, I use professional-grade solutions chosen specifically to work across all skin tones, and we'll always talk through the look you want before anything is applied. Your result should feel natural and glowing, never dull.
What should I wear to my appointment? +
Whatever you feel comfortable in. Loose, dark clothing is recommended after your tan to avoid marks during development. Avoid tight waistbands or bra straps immediately after.
Can I get a spray tan if I have sensitive skin? +
A patch test is available on request — just let me know when you book. If you have any skin conditions or concerns, please mention them on your consultation form so we can discuss before your appointment.
How long does a spray tan last? +
Typically 5–7 days with proper aftercare. Daily moisturising, avoiding chlorine and patting dry after showering all help extend your glow.
Are there any reasons I might not be able to have a spray tan? +
There are a few things that may mean we need to postpone or adjust your appointment — including open wounds or cuts, recent waxing or laser treatments, active skin conditions like eczema or psoriasis, asthma (GP advice recommended), certain medications, or being in your first trimester of pregnancy. A full consultation form is completed before every appointment. If you're unsure about anything, just mention it when you book and we'll go through it together.
